    Ahem...Out of Stock.

I have been in touch with Paul of PRJ (since I was planning on doing this but ditched it since it swept past the $5K mark) and he knew of where to get all the parts for it (and was even willing to get me a bit of a discount).

He was VERY understanding and answered all my questions that I had. Basically here if the lowdown on the Whipple. They did a test on a basically bone stock GTP. Threw down a 14.7 bone stock, switched the whipple, ran open TB and dropped the cat-back. Tuned it and went back and ran a 13.3...keep in mind though that the runs were made with a 4.5" pulley on the blower.

A Whipple is really only efficient past the 15-17psi mark. Anything under that and it is just a HUGE heat trap for KR. And if your dropping pulley sizes and upping the boost past 17-20psi (where the Whipple shines) you'd be knocking so bad you'd probably blow it and if not it would utterly dogcrap slow. In order to run it with anything smaller than a 4.5" pulley (and yes that was many tests to see)...you'll need a full size intercooler. Those run ya about a grand alone for the kit from ZZP. The blower, such as the W140Ax Whipple, which are mostly found one the Lightning/Cobra motors, will run ya at the cheapest (new) about $3,500 or so. That is also no adapter plates for the LIM and TB.

If you have the money to throw at it then sure, by all means I'd love to see it. I was going to but I figured I can do the same thing with a bigger cam, heads, injectors, 100% Meth., and a 2.35/2.55" Pulley on the Gen III. And still be saving myself at least a couple grand. Which would go towards tires and such

But I still want the damned thing b/c of that wicked ass whine

yeah, I know that they take a lot of work/supporting mods to get to run good. And I know zzp offers turbo kits that can be used in a twin charge setup, but I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of running a twin charged setup with the whipple charger. It would definitely be a HUGE amount of cash to do.

Its a cool mod for sure, but not a real efficient mod for the amount spent, with the gains received. You also have to keep in mind that when Tom was doing the swapping round of the superchargers, and having it re tested, that was with a semi basic tune that he only spent like 10 minutes on to get the car to run. If he or somebody sat down, and actually did some work tuning it over the long term, and it sat on a built engine not just swapped on to a stock motor and hope for the best, then you would have one very powerful engine for sure. Such as the case when he was very first running the Whipple on his built 3800 in his Lumina.

These are still accessible for a few who know Tom on a personal level, and it helps hes a local that does not live too far away from me.

If its out of stock at the W-Body store, then its really a no longer produced item, and he should remove that from his site cause its very doubtful he will ever have this restocked, and very doubtful Tom himself is going to make another batch of these, and doubtful he will sell his plans on these to have them reproduced by some one else.

Yeah that is what Paul told me. He said that Tom was selling the setup off of his car and making a custom IC for it last I had heard. And like I had said too...for the money you could do a really good turbo build instead

Tom's GTP is long gone my friend. Of course...it was returned back to stock, or as close to stock as you could get.

He now rocks a pretty sweet SS V8.
