04 GTP. If I accelerate quickly - Ding Ding "Reduced Engine Power" and I have to turn off the engine and wait a minute. Starts right back up and the Check engine light goes off. No problem on regular driving or smooth acceleration. Happened once when on Cruise control in the fast lane and we started up a hill where it applied power. I've cleaned and checked the MAF, throttle body and the air hoses to make sure no leaks or dirt.

Wondering if the is the throttle position sensor. I read that if one of the 2 position sensors (fuel peddle and throttle body) are off a certain % of voltage, it senses that one of them is bad and it will shut down. Can you tell me if this is true. If so, Ill replace them one at a time and see if it solves the problem.

Thanks in advance for the help.

If the check engine light came on, it set a code that is now stored in the computers memory.

Get that code and it should help you figure out if its the TB itself or the pedal postion sensor.

I have gotten this code in a couple of Chevy trucks that use the same type of tb, got that replaced and no more reduced engine power. It has to be within the tb well from my experience it always has been that.

Throttle body for sure! Its the throttle position sensor or butterfly valve messing up. This happened to me although not at full acceleration it would do it during crushing speeds, changed the TB out and bam no more problem

I have somewhat the same problen car seems it bogs under heavy acceleration but once car hits higher rpm it opens up and I get full power could that be tps ? If I give it somewhat hard gas it'll bog amd stay at 14.5 afr then oncey afrbgoes to 10 which is too rich it opens up

I had pretty much the same thing happen, and it turned out to be the pedal position sensor.
