I have a new issue that just popped for my 2004 grand prix gtp. Was driving a few days ago and these codes popped P1125, P2120, P2125, P2138 and P0401 w/ no performance problems. I cleared the codes thinking it was false error and car ran fine for next 3 days until today when my RPM began to dip an drop at idle and even when accelerating first I thought it was bad gas since i filled up at a new station and put a can of seafoam gas treatment in. Seemed to run better for a few mins. Then I got on the freeway and engine light, traction control and "reduced engine power" light came on and noticed the accelerator pedal began to feel funny before car shutr off. I scanned codes and only received P0068 and P0101. Any idea what I should repair/replace? Trying to save money w/o taking to dealer. I replaced the EGR valve and had the valved tube cleaned and still get a light.Thx in advance.

Please list the names for the codes and read through the info you find when you are looking them up.

Why did you replace the EGR?
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I had a buddy tinker with the car to find the issue and it appears to be the MAP sensor...I just ordered a new one from rockauto.com and will have it installed within the next few days. I hope this will solve the issue. Since the sensor appears to be bad it causes the RPMs to drop intermittently an ultimately kills the engine. Right now the car runs fine as long as the bad sensor is not connected. I the engine light will just illuminate...as long a si can drive it that sgood with me.

    Thx guys.

This code is one of the best examples of why you should find information before shotgunning parts. I watched a guy shotgun $320 of EGR's (2 of them) when a forum told him "that's an egr code, you need another". I saw the ongoing issue, googled it and came up with the GM FSM stuff off GearChatter.com Said in the diagnostic aids to check map, becaue the map reads the difference in the air. When the EGR opens, the pressure is expected to change via a map reading. PCM doesn't see it..code is set. Although it has EGR in it's title..it's hardly ever an EGR.

I hear you bro. I took it to two or three different garages and all suggested that I replace the EGR and checked to make sure the tube wasnt blocked. Was about to take it to the dealership. Luckily the EGR only cost me about $65 or so on ebay. My buddy works as mobile mechanic and found the problem w/ an hour of tinkering unlike the brick and mortar shops.

Guys... seems I have a new issue...I replaced the MAP sensor and now my car's fuel mixture runs rich and the RPMs continue to intermittently drop. Now the only code that I receive is P0107- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Low Input per P0107 PONTIAC Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Low Input OBDII Engine Light Trouble Code | Engine-Codes.com Trying to troubleshoot this bad boy and hope the ECM isnt bad. Any input? Thanks in advance brothers.
