Get one of those... Stick it on teh end of the pushrod and see how much lift you get out of the cam....
Lighter, freer revving valvetrain isn't a "waste" of money if you got them at the right price.
Also: stock guides are clearanced to .550". Anything more than that would need to have the guides milled...or have the special install kits like that are offered for the XPZ/Thrasher, etc.
Check the video out. It does sound like it is cammed due to the sound of it but as I said I don't want to say yes to something unless I have proof.

Sounds cammed to me! If anything instead of pulling the whole motor just use our old fashion method and drop the cradle to pull the cam out.
Pretty easy to do it that way...but if you can pull it I'd recommend that so you'll have more space to work with and the cam should have the specs of it on it.
