A couple days ago i put a lower temp thermostat in my 2004 GTP Comp G.( down to 160) Then a couple days later the check engine light came on, so i went to autozone to pull up the code and it say coolant temp too low and the check engine light is still on. Is there a way to get rid othe chexk engine light permanently? Without having to disconnect to ground all the time. I am selling this car!

Car is very inefficent when running that cold, what you think is too warm is actually what the car loves.

There is no need to ever run a colder thermostat while stock. Gas mileage and overall performance will go down when the motor runs too cold and like you noticed its sets the check engine light off.
