I hope this post is in the right place but its my first so give me a bit of a break. ok guys, heres the deal. I have a 97 gp gt and i swapped in an l 67 with a gt2 cam i just got done with the swap it runs and drives but anything after half throttle it starts sputtering and falling flat on its face. I also put an l36 tb on it for now because when i got the motor it came without a maf and the budget is running low. i have a gt 1.0 pcm with the tables adjusted for the cam in it currently. I have the right pcm on the way but what im trying to get at is will this fix the issue or is there something else it could be? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I'm sure the boosted guys will talk about this further but my opinion is:
    1. GT2 cam is designed for N/A engines, not supercharged engines
    2. Your PCM is definitely contributing to the problem.
See how it runs when your new PCM comes in, then update us. Good Luck and welcome !

thanks for the reply, and i know that cam isnt necesarilly for the l 67 but i just did the cam swap a month ago and the motor let go, so i wasnt going to spend another 300 dollars when a cam is better than no cam.

Wait so you are running a l67 and a 4t65e in a 97 gt off the 97 gt pcm?

97 and 98 the engines were the same, 99+ they got different MAFs and alts. I have a 97 GTP PCM I could let you barrow to see if that fixes the issues, but you would probably be better off running the 4t65e than the 4t60e in that case cuz I dont think the 97 GTP PCM would play nice with the 4t60e.

thanks for the offer, but i dont think it would work because im still using the gt harness, the gtp wire harness was chopped all to hell so i pulled what i needed off of it and made it work. i think thats why the 98 pcm didnt work.

I could sell you the harness too, the MAF sensor connector one of the wires is broken but can be easily fixed some solder and heatshrink, and the MAP sensor connector got smashed but still works.

Actually I might be able to get a harness from the U Pull It for $30, they have a 97 GTP in there and I don't remember if the harness is in it or not, if it is I'll snag it and you pay me back the cost plus shipping and you can have it. I'll see if the PCM is in it still too.
