Hey guys, I'm pretty sure my blower is shot. There is a terrible rattling coming from the supercharger and the sound doesn't stop when i take the belt off. Is it possible to just remove the supercharger from the engine? I don't have the money to buy a new one and I don't want spend money on a part that might not fix the issue.

If the noise continunes without the belt is probably not your supercharger. Take a video of noise and post it up here so we can listen. Could be a ticking injector. How is the horsepower? Feel normal?

If your sound continues even with the supercharger belt off it may not be the supercharger that is making the noise

Could you provide a video for us to listen to it?

Its your supercharger coupler, cheap and somewhat easy fix.

Lol... If s/c is disengaged by removing belt... It couldn't possibly be the coupler.

Video is needed as sound travels and what you think is the s/c is probably something else.

Seems this car was just posted in the for sale section

wants $800 for it, might be a steal of a deal because whatever is wrong could be a $5 fix

Lol... How many people get rid of cars that have manageable issues...
    So unfortunate!

I'll post a video tomorrow afternoon. And I kind of just need to be rid of the car. I've put a lot of money into it

And I doubt it's the tranny the noise definitely is coming from the engine bay. And from left side if the engine I think it's the blower because it was rattling very lightly then after work one day it sounded completely terrible. I'm fairly sure that I can hear the sound coming from the supercharger I do think the coupler needs to be replaced also because there is some play in the snout

And the power feels normal still has the same 'get up and go' just a terrible rattling sound at idle (it can kind of be heard while accelerating)

    Idler/Tensioner pulley???

If you are dead set on the supercharger being bad, there is one in the for sale thread $85. I see them on craigslist all the time to.
