I will say the TOG Headers a PITA to install. I had a shop finish it up as I working on them myself and needed a third arm to connect the cross over to the rear header. I had been working for 3 days and just was not in the mood to keep trying.
they are very hard to seal unless they are new. when you tighten them down to seal them you almost always warp the flanges. they become oval instead of round like they are supposed to be.
i have no clue how they are in reality, they may be a sweet set of headers, but im satisfied with my purchase and not many people actually know of s&s so i like to put the word out there.
what do you guys think of the ceramic pacesetters? I can get some for $400 with o2 Extension? is that a good deal? Otherwise I'm gonna save for a while and either get the autochromes or the TOG's along with the Random Tech Bolt on Cat Downpipe for them from 3800 performance...
do the pacesetters make a crappy ticking noise as well? Are they a pain to install because of a sealing issue or something else?
Well after reading this post i think i will get S&S's![]()
where can you buy S&S? is that ss autochrome? or something different?
S&S isn't SSAC and you can get them at the WBody store
NOTE!! they will take a little bit to get to you since wbodystore is a small operation. if you get them coated it will take a bunch longer since they send them out to get coated.
dont buy them expecting them in less than a week.
otherwise, check out the site and see if there is any other options:
!S&S Headers manufacturer of street rod, roadster, four cylinder, Japanese, VW, dirt track, mini-sprint, modified midget, dwarf-car, sprint, midget, off-road buggy, Chevrolet headers, Ford, Accura, Honda, Isuzu, Mazda, Miata, Nissan, Rabbit, Scirocco
so if i were to get V-6 Headers& Flex 1997 and later V-6 Grand Prix/GT/GTP/Buick
they wouldn't come with a catalyc convertor and i would have to weld? them to my existing cat right? or am i better off getting the Hdr.W/Flex & Cat. ?
u might as well go with pacesetters. those things look cheap for the price and they dont even list who makes them
oh nevermind i see they say S&S
S&S makes them. the header company. haha.
i ran them and yes, youll have to weld the downpipe to the cat. it only comes with a shorty. i would suggest making your own downpipe right away though since the flex section that they come with is known to break and mine broke too.
Pacecrappers FTW
the one for 514.60 doesn't come with anything but the two pieces attatched so that just means i can bolt it on to my stock down pipe with screws?
