    Hey everyone,


    I have a 1995 grand prix 2 door with the 3100 V6 auto trans. The body is a near perfect, No rust no dents great paint. Perfect car to do something with. I bought the car in jan 2011 with 80,700 miles " somewhere around there" from my best friends dad who worshiped this car since the day he bought it new. I got it Only because he knew Id take care of it.. And now, Its time to Do something nice to it..

    Ive been researching engine swaps for the better part of a year now. I was going with a Northstar V8 from a Caddy till I realized and was told to scrap the Idea for a 3.8L Supercharged Engine from another Wbody or something from the Gm family. I never realized how POWERFUL you can make these engines, and how much potential they actually have. I have a idea on where to start, and thats getting a engine Transmission ECM etc..My plans are to buy a donor car, where I can get most of my parts to transfer over. I have a few questions maybe some of you can help me with, and anyone who has done a 3800 swap into a 1988-1996 Grand prix any info is greatly appreciated.

    Things Id like to know:

    What donor car should I be looking for?? what was the best year 3800 engine and trans Set up??
    How good is the EATON m90? someone told me they are garbage?..I dont value this persons opinion so Im searching elseware for a more accurate opinion.
    Anybody hear personally do a 3800 swap in a 88-96 Grand prix??
    Is a supercharger better then a Turbo charger for this application?. Ive heard from a race car builder that a turbo setup would be better for this application? in more ways then one...

    Congrats o the GP. I'm new to them too but I can tell you one thing. They are easy to modify, no matter which way you go. Turbo, supercharged. Two of my friends have had there's for years now and the mileages are up there but still going. As far as the eaton goes, I can only tell you from two experiences. One was from a ride in a Fiero with M90 3.8, wicked machine. The other is from my car 2003 cobra "Terminator". It's got a ported eaton and I'm very impressed with just that. Its not same blower, but it's an eaton too, M112. I think it'll all boil down to what you're looking to do. I don't know about the compatibilities of the L67 yet, but I know it's plentiful. So good luck on your quest and continue our research. Lots of info on these forums.
