Sometime last week on my way to work, only about 12 minutes away, my car started giving me issues. The car seems to start chugging. If I put a lil throttle into it, it'll pan right out. But heres the kicker, it only does this in second gear when the car is still cold. Once I get a about a mile down the road it's fine. I can't tell if it's the engine or the transmission. Any ideas out there?

Sidenote: I put on a SLP CAI that I bought off of GTPaddict and put it on around the 8th or the 9th but no problems till about a week later???

What do you mean by chugging? Surging maybe? It could be the TCC lockup in the trans wich only locks up in 2nd 3rd and 4th. Could also be a lot of other things.

    No ses light right?

Ya sounds like a trans issue if it's only happening in 2nd.

I would suggest making sure all your connections are good and do a tune up. Take some TB cleaner and clean the TB, making sure to clean the IAC and its passages.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I guess it would be better to call it surging. It is just confusing because it only does it when it is cold. The SES light is not on, though. Given all of my Christmas lights for my ABS, brake and TC are on all the time. Doubt that is having an effect, they have been on for about three months now. I am thinking it is more related towards something electronic but I guess I will have to dig in and find out now. This sucks, I just needed to make through the winter so i could buy a G8! Ughh...

    Now the story comes out

Not to discourage you . But if you just want to go fast go ahead and fix up the gp. I drove one of those g8's and was very dissapointed. With the traction controll off it would barley peel out. I'm sure it can be made pretty fast fairly easy though. I don't know...maybe i was expecting too much for having 400 horsepower?

I know my buddy's old ls1 01 camaor stock was for sure just as fast. And it was a 5.7...

Sorry got a little carried away....

Well, thank you for the opinion. I had yet to drive one personally. Friend bought one but haven't been able to drive myself yet. If that is the case, I might have to think twice about it.

Back to matter at hand, I have not been able to check into what the problem seems to be with my car. Said before, it only occurs when making right turns... but now it even did it when i was gettin into it. Which I really hadnt noticed before. Really have no clue... I suppose I will look into it when I get back home this weekend.

    Will update...
