Had my car about 1 1/2years, got it running good, near stock. Now getting ready to start exhaust, then valvetrain mods this spring. PO did res delete & Flowmaster40s, manifolds & cat are stock.

So I'm that guy, w/ a question about sounds, but no sound clip--I just can't seem to record/capture the sound.

So, when I accellorate hard & take my foot off the pedal, I SOMETIMES get 1 or 2 "pops" from mufflers, to me sounds like grunts, snorts, and farts. My lady asked me, "Why does your car 'clear his throat' like that?" I said, "It has chambered mufflers, I think".

It does not do it unless I'm moving (just reving in P or N won't cause it). It does not happen when good and warm, like when have it on the freeway for a while.

I'm hoping someone w/ Flowmaster40s can chime in. I need to budget my work, and I am just a tiny worried it might need a valve job (or other work). When it 1st happened, I thought it might be backfiring.

    Thanks for any input.
