Ok so I dropped my set of L32 heads off at a local machine shop today to get a mild p&p (intake runners gasket matched), and also inquired about having my IC machined LIM runners gasket matched as well.. Well, long story short they said it wouldn't be worth it as the runners of the LIM are actually suppose to be a little smaller than the gasket and that I wouldn't notice any gain from it even with the heads being ported. How factual is this? It is ssneilmnop's LIM btw.. Bought it along with his IC.

There is a reasonable amount of material that can be removed and smoothed in the runners if you are gasket matching. How much does it help, IDK.

Chris..if you want to do it, holler.. it's easy.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

    Gasket maching never HURT anything.

    Gains?

Probably have to be on a dyno to see them but I'm sure it's better than not doing it. I had my LIM ported up top and the runners were roughed up and port matched to my ported heads.

That'd be cool Bill. Maybe when the heads are done I'll give ya a shout and you can show me the proper way to match the manifold runners to the intake runners of the heads. That way I don't destroy my LIM attempting it myself haha
