Okay my '99 gtp is having some issues. The MAF, ICM, TPS, fuel filter, and fuel pump have all been replaced recently. Now my problem is that my car will die while driving. Sometimes it dies without warning. Sometimes the car will make a thud noise similar to a hard shift and it will also die unless i immediately let off the throttle. The car idles fine. I have no idea. Ive checked everything it seems like. I just cant continue to keep throwing money at it. I need to pinpoint this problem. Any ideas?

Happen to notice if your tach drops to 0 yet the car is still running? Will it fire right back up? Even if not, I 2nd the crankshaft position sensor theory.

well the tach drops to zero because the car dies but sometimes if i quickly try to start it again and turn the key just to the ON position the tach goes to about 800 rpm but it has no power. When the car goes to die, if it doesnt die right away, the tach drops and sits at around 800 rpm and the car wont accelerate so I have to shut it off and restart. Most of the time it just dies randomly and quickly. It will usually fire right back up, but if not it will restart the 2nd or 3rd try.

Does your car idle high? What are your RPMs at idle? @ 60? My guess is a massive vacuum leak.

thats normal, the same thing happens if you tap the brakes in 4 th gear, with out letting off the gas at cruising speed. it the torque converter just unlocking.

I believe its the Crank Sensor if you have already replaced the MAF.

Take a look at the "how to replace a crank sensor" write up. Part should be $20-$30 and it's under an hour for a guy using only hand tools.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Well normally I would tackle this project myself because I do almost all the work on my own car, but I live in an apartment without a garage and I usually do the work at my buddy'a house but it's just too damn cold for me to be working on a car outside. I replaced my fuel pump last year in the dead if winter in 5* weather..yeah that wasn't a great experience lol

Could be fuel pump wiring as well, after it dies, open the test port/schrader valve and see if you have pressure still, do it carefully if it's hot or with a large towel. Did you replace the pump itself or canister and everything?

I replaced the whole unit...everything. The car gets good fuel pressure according to the shop that put the ICM in. The day after I got the car back from getting the ICM replaced I went out and tried to have some fun but the car wouldn't go too high in rpms and then died. Now it dies at random. I don't/can't drive it spiritedly anymore(not that i beat on it, but every now and again I like to have some fun) I'm annoyed
