This is my first car and I have a slight oil leak and I am just worried about the cost of repair I'm thinking its the upper intake manifold gasket but what scares me is that the other day I watched as it ran and I seen slight smoke from the rear of the engine like near the firewall, but the oil thats actually making it to the drive way is near the front and I could see towards the front where it was leaking after running for a while so maybe I have 2 leaks? its a very small leak and I'm hoping it hasn't caused too much damage yet because I havent found any coolant/oil mixture yet but I am just afraid what I will find one I take the manifold off plus, at this point I don't even know if thats the cause it's just making me worry because this was my dream car the 2000 gtp with the bronze metalic and tan interior with low miles but now I think I know why I got such a good deal so what am I looking at labor wise cost wise and any other problems that could happen if I don't correct them before that point

Just replace the LIM gasket and your Valve cover gaskets. No more damage can be done than what's already happening.

valve cover leaks can travel around the oil pan no problem. get new vc gaskets, then clean the engine, and watch for the leak to pop up again.

you can also take a look at the oil pressure sensor, its located on the housing where the oil filter is screwed on. that sensor likes to leak, it leaks out the plug, and can be a bad leak, they start off as a small leak, and then get worst over time. run the engine wile looking at it, see if it dry, if its wet looking, the plug that is, its leaking. good thing, they cost 12 bucks.

lim gasket should be done if you have the plastic gasket still. look where the lower intake meets the head, for either black ( plastic ) or silver (metal) gaskets. metal you are good to go, black, you should plan on changing them.

also check the lim bolt valleys. are they dry? or wet with puddles over the bolts? if its wet the lim for sure needs to be done.

Where in Jersey are you? I know a couple of guys in that area that I'd recommend and would not charge a billion.

    Nighthwk12 aka Justin is one
Me..I'm kinda nearby depending on how you look at things

Let's do it to it. My zip is 07748. Doing the valve covers and lim gasket is a breeze and a good point to learn your car, engine, and how to turn a wrench. The parts aren't that pricey either.

Hold up ace.. The GP is a POS in my eyes. You happen to speak the best words possible. Bville SSEi and 99 is a damn good year.

Go sit in that Bonne and adjust the seat,

the Bonnie is nearly as moddable as a GP. Easier in most cases. Add $80 drag bags to the rear and in conjunction with the auto leveling, you won't have weight transfer issues like the GP's. Lemme show you a few things

Bonne makes it so nice to IC

Car was nearly made for an FWI

Intercooling..piece of cake. No worries of ever hitting things with the hood. Tons of room for a huge front mount

Want and electric water pump or IC pump, heck..you can put the fuses and relays right in the factory relay center
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Once I put it on the road I am going to have it looked over and just keep an eye on it if it gets really bad I will bite the bullet try to get some money together and try to get it to a nearby guy, I don't think the 99 bonne's have heated seats
