Re: Low boost, block off boost bypass solenoid. Full boost returns..
Try to get it scanned. The scan tool should have a BCS PID to say if it is on or off.
I know it is on when the car goes into reverse, so that it doesnt make boost.
Might have a wiring issue or the pins are not making a good contact in the connector.
Re: Low boost, block off boost bypass solenoid. Full boost returns..
I have an old red brick ,snap on scanner that allows me to turn the solenoid on or off to check its function.
Re: Low boost, block off boost bypass solenoid. Full boost returns..
Hmm maybe one day I can cruise down to San Marcos and test it out. In March I plan on being home for a week. I live near Fort Hood, strait shot down 35.

Oh yeah that s not to far. The shop you took it to the first time should have done that to begin with. lol.
Its got to be something crazy simple.

Shop?
I do all my own work, I have never taken this car to a shop, other than Tint shop.

I removed the garbage and installed a 90 degree angle vacuum elbow on the end of it, cured the problem of not gatting full boost at WOT.
How exactly did you clean this?

It might be a good idea to pm him since this thread is older. He may not have subscribed to it and not know you are responding.
Re: Low boost, block off boost bypass solenoid. Full boost returns..
I registered literally to ask this question, but I think I'll take a good look around even though I don't have a GP :) ...
Anyway... It seems to me that it should be fine to remove the solenoid all together and let my bypass valve vent itself into my engine compartment, is that correct?
Mine failed, and rather then put a new one in I've just decided to delete it. I capped off the T connection to the solenoid, removed the electronic connection, and removed the connection from the Valve to the other side of the solenoid. I figure it either vents through the solenoid, or vents directly from the bypass valve nipple that used to run there...same/same?
Someone let me know that I'm not going to explode anything? Lol
Everything is running great, better than ever honestly... But I just wanted to make sure I'm understanding correctly and being safe. Love my car and def don't wanna destroy anything.
Thank you to all replys
