I finally got around to hooking up my VEI Fuel Pressure sending unit. I have the ZZP fuel logs, but this could also be hooked up to stock rails if you get an adapter for the front schrader valve. I wanted to hook this sender up and get the signal back to my HP Tuners scan, although it could also be sent back to a gauge.

The really cool thing I found is that the signal can be routed through the EGR wiring (my EGR was removed some time ago because of the intercooler). Everything is right there - power, ground, and signal wire. The VEI sender requires 5v power, and that is found on the EGR connection (gray wire). Ground is the black wire, and signal return is the brown wire. I didn't have to route any wires through the firewall.

In HPT, I just added a custom PID and included the EGR signal volts * 20. Perfect Fuel Pressure readings!

Here's where I bought the sender:

I also picked up the adapter block, and a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter. The gauge is from Summit.

Very interesting. I love how you connected it through the OBD2 system.

I couldn't believe the three wires I needed were literally inches away. Stuff like that never happens.

i think the only way a fuel pressure gauge is useful is if its in the cabin so you can watch it.

You need it in the engine for an adjustable FPR. Doesn't do much for WOT though.
