well bought the proper removal tool and that was extremely easy.. going to exchange it now for the new one... one crazy question, it says about installing not to go too far and check the progress, how far should this or shouldn't this pulley go on? i bought a new pulley for $39 also to elimate that causing problems also

you push the pulley back on so its flush with the shaft, like it is now. the washer in the installer/puller will have a washer to use as a stop.
