can i do this ?
not sure if your maf fits the hole in the TB right.
another thread a guy was using a 98 maf in a 99 TB iirc, and m still waiting to hear back is it was sealing tight or not. or causing him a vac leak.
you need to use your maf. the 2002 wont work. pretty sure it wont even plug into your harness.
IF you di it you will have a p0171 and the MAF wont go into the throttle body two diffrent models after the 99' year better of going northstar or something and getting tuned for it.
If you use your 02 tb on your 02 car the sc will bolt up fine and you'll just have to redo some vacuum lines
yes u can do a 02 on a 97 but the maf are diff from a 97 to a 02 the 97 is smaller then the 02 and it would need to be retuned for the different maf
i will be using the 02 maf sensor there car right now has a 97 tb and maf on it thats causing a p0171 hence why i need a 02 tb and maf
Erik, you sure can.
As well, it won't automatically set any codes. It might, however when you swap it on, you should put the 99-03 maf table into the tune and then you'd have the right table for the maf in the TB. Flow is slightly different from 97-98 to 99-03. I have tossed an 02 motor into a 98 w/o changing the table and never had an issue. PCM sucked up the slack for me.
its has the table for an 02 in it. ive been chasing a p0171 for a while and never knew the tb was the issue blue cleared that up for me. thank you everyone for the help now the hunt is on for a tb to go in
