My car started to make a while from the trans as I was driving earlier and at around 70mph keeping steady on highway rpms would spike up and then level out so on my way home started to shift weird and now seems like won't shift right

Any ideas of if it's the torque converter or something else cause before it acted up so did a fluid change and was kindof dark and had some metallic fragments in fluid it fixed it like for a month but always felt different since then like no power so then the whine started today and now seems like didn't wanna shift out of second seem like changes from first to soon

I wouldnt say its the Torque converter.

Does it have proper fluid level?

Can you take it somewhere to see if it has any trans codes stored?

Is the level at the top of the cross hatches or over? Over is bad, under is bad. Please check it.

As for the rest.. might be that the clutches are badly worn and not grabbing since the fluid isn't filled with friction material from the clutches (aka why it was dark)
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
