well just went out and looked at it and all around the valve cover is bone dry... doesnt look like its leaking at all. That little pocket or whatever that has the oil in it literally looks like someone just opened a fresh quart of oil and poured just a tad of it in there.

I think this happened on my 08 NA car too, when I took the plenum off to do my Hv3, the pocket all the way on the back passenger side of the lim was filled with oil, but it was dark.. not new looking and I know for a fact that motor was leak free. Is it possible that maybe if the valve seals are bad on a particular cylinder, oil could come back up through the passages to the cylinders up into the plenum and then collect over time in those pockets? That motor did have a problem with oil disappearing/burning...

could that be s/c oil from the leak, when driving im sure the oil could have drifted back there.

    the v/c gasket looks tight.

i'd mop it up and keep an eye on it down the road.

The SC oil can't leak from the bolt that holds the charger to the LIM. There's no passages, gaskets etc there. that bolt goes into the LIM only to hold the charger down. There's no fluids anywhere near it.

That fluid you see pooled in the back should be either oil or super dirty coolant. Might even be fuel from someone pulling the rail off the injector and spewing fuel. I'd clean it and look for more. It's also possible that the sealant on the LIM bolt has degraded and you are seeing oil seep up the threads of the bolt.

Bill, mine was defiantly leaking from that bolt, i dont know why but i do know that the gasket broke off and fell into the abyss.

i thought to myself, how could this leak and whys there a gasket there to start with questions.

i put it back together, and it leaked right from that bolt where it meets the lim. with no gasket there. so i took the bolt back out coated it with rtv, and it stopped leaking immediately.

You know I happen to have pics. The nose drive was cut off the cover. That's why it looks funny. However the pics show there's no hole anywhere there. I believe you had a leak, however that bolt shouldn't possibly be capable of doing so.

There are a couple of places where the snout to rotor pack has something to push them apart with. Personally I unbolt it (leaving the rotors fully i the case and give it a couple smacks with a rubber mallet.
