Twist oil spout to left and remove it.
Are you sure because it looks to be apart of a plastic valve covering bolted to the block underneath
Ask yourself this, "how would I remove the front valve cover if I can't remove the engine cover?".
Answer: You can remove the engine cover by twisting the oil spout to the left.
If you have to ask this question, please never open the hood again. Leave things to the professionals.
I had to use a sawzall to get mine off oil caps are so tricky.
It also took me 50seconds to pull mine off....
I vote this thread be closed
Never know when this question will come up again. Do we need it stickyed ? lol

No one pays attention to stickys, so its probably best to not sticky it, then the vast amount of knowledge in this thread will be more likely to be seen by hundreds, if not thousands.
I figured it out without asking, so anyone should be able to. Some people just don't step back and access what they are trying to do.
Wrap a chain around the cover, attach the other end to a tree rev it up throw in in reverse, job done, and now its Miller time
But if you took the oil cap off how would you get it back on?
burn a new one on there.
Dont close this thread.....its questions like these that make me feel like a freakin genius!!!
This thread is just all full of winning
reminds me of the blond who was looking for a 710 cap... and for those who dont get it OIL = 710 upside down.
we can add this thread to rotating the air in your tires and refilling your headlight fluid.
