Great time, you look just like that young guy btw martin sheens boy
Someone needs to shut this thread down. It is obvious that the guy doesn't want to listen to anyone , and the thread is going a different direction. :)
Heres the thing i have only been a member here for a few days and have learned a lot so far.I listen to everyone but when you have a company like intense(and there are others)that in a stage 1 kit the first of mods usually jump right to a ****in 3.4 pulley with not one god damn exhaust mod whatsoever then i am going to question it.I havent installed any of the **** i said i am deciding what are the best options and that is why i have asked for so much input. If you take your car to the garage and they soak you with some fix they say you needed are you just going to write the check or ask some questions? If the Doctor tells you he's going to have to remove your penis are you going to say OK or get a second opinion.Jesus Christ what are you guys so wound up about? reading to pounce on someone like your reading **** JUST to cause some drama. For the most part i appreciate all the input there are some very knowledgeable guys here but some of you guys need to chill a little find some kind of release or some **** cause where i am from only ***ches act like that.
Op I am sorry that I was impatient with you and I apologize for acting like an asshole we were all new to this at one point and I guess I forget that sometimes. Again sorry.
OP, my personal preference is to scan first, do flow mods, scan, if no KR then pulley down, scan, scan, scan. I am a big believer in keeping an eye on everything under the hood, and scanning is the best way to do that. Keep researching and asking questions. It'll keep your engine in one piece. Best of luck on your mod-ventures.
nah bro its all good that wasnt even directed at you but just too much bickering and pissing contest ****, all i was doing was getting input hey you helped me find those headers last i tried too i had to go to SD site and they where 300. I really dont want to put headers on the car it will be louder and heat up the engine bay worse if i go inside the motor i will have to have them.If i broke into a 14 i would be happy.
Iron manifolds or stainless headers.
Curious as to how the manifolds keep more heat in the exhaust.
Also curious how headers will make the car louder.
You don't have to worry about the car being loader, unless you mod the catback and as far as heat, I don't think it makes a lick of difference between the stock manifolds and headers. Here is a link to SSAutochrome these are the ones that speed daddy copied Pontiac Performance Racing Products for International Sales from SSAutochrome Inc. $175 plus shipping. And idk if anyone told you yet but with those headers there is a ubend in the downpipe that will most likely hit the ground if you go over bumps. I tore a hole in my dp when I had mine on. There are a few threads with instructions on how to mod out the ubend and since you can weld it should be super easy to remove.
Yeah i know its important just when you see intense even there stage 2 kit has NO exhaust mods i question if i need headers at my level.I heard of KR but didnt really know what it trully meant probably still dont. But zzp claims you can do this with 0 KR i just question things i go to wbody riviera and they have some damn good tech 3800 pro i am taking notes right now guys thanks!

Read that.
KR and pulley size cannot be predicted anymore.
You could have shot valves and loads of carbon buildup in your CC and in your manifolds and could be knocking right now bone stock.
Or you could be in great shape and throw a 3.4 on there and have no issues.
Step one is scan. Then go from there.
Planning any other mods other than finding a scanner and someone to tune/tuning tools is pointless.
Well the thing is you can run any pulley you want with whatever mods you want each car is different, I have heard of some cars that had 3-4* of KR stock and I have heard of people running a 3.4 pulley with colder plugs colder tstat and a cold air intake a crappy tune and only seeing a few degrees of KR. It all depends on your car.
The info we are giving you is so you can be safe while modding. Most of the other how to modding threads I have read followed the same format as blues does, one even suggests that if your going to mod the first thing you should buy is either a scan gauge or a tuner, a tuner being the better option of the two.
Many box tunes besides the ZZP like to run very rich because its expected most users will try to run pulleys that are too small for their engine.
matt i was thinking the headers would heat the engine bay a little more ? If the headers dump 3 in i would try to keep it all 3 inch the last time i tried that with a single pipe it looked like crap dragged in places and i wasted about 3 sticks of pipe and it sounded like ****. I think a good 2.5 in with least bends will work ok for what i am doing at this time maybe i am wrong idk.
if anything wouldn't headers cool it down? i realize there is no heat shield on headers but exhaust flows better and smoother through the headers then restricted manifolds
Ya i see that as a huge problem i have seen plenty of modded L67's on Ebay that they didnt know what they where doing and the lower end went.I dont know what i am doing but with the PCM mod (looking like ZZP) 180 stat, 2 ranges colder plugs, CAI and my best free flowing pipe i can make myself i am going to try 3.5- 3.4 keyword being TRY. Some run a 3.4 with just a stat and a CAI.I will run atleast 93 use a little race gas if i have too.
Which pipe do you intend on replacing?
Those headers bolt right up to the stock catback right behind the cat and right before the res. You do not need to mod the stock catback.
