so right now with my car the way it is, exhaust and intake, the intercooler really wont do m any good till i get headers?

Yeah but there isn't any point in not getting a intercooler just becuase your missing headers.
Intercooler is the best mod you can get for this cars hands down, in my opinion its the best and a damn good first mod. And i'm talking about a full sized, no SS IC. Go full sized or go home period.
For a few years on my daily driver I pulled off 3.0", Full IC, HVTB, Rockers, PEMs, 3" exh w/ 0 KR! Course my white one has a bit more done to it nowadays and its my toy now.
My other GTP (GFs DD) has a Thrasher CAI, 3.25", Full IC, 3" Catless DP, Overkilled PCM thats it and it runs damn good with 0 KR! Its got stock manis, catback, S/C, TB, heads, etc etc. Runs damn good, way better without the IC and a 3.4" which still showed a little KR here and there.
what do you mean a full sized intercooler? i thoguht the only intercooler i cuold get was one that is inbetween he intake manifold and the supercharger, is there any other types for a supercharger?
oh oki know what what you are talking about, i thought he was talking about a different type like a front mount, but thats only for turbos.
but the really thick ones are like 1200
thats more than headers
the SSIC is a piss poor IC in my opinion. If you don't want to spend the money to get a good full sized IC or wait for a used one don't get one at all. Headers will be a much better choice.
I'm talking from experiance here, I had a SS on my other GTP. It didn't cool worth a ****. I honestly think a ****ing S/C spacer would of taken away heat better than that damn thing. It was a true disappointment to me. Then again, comparing to the IC on my GTP, it made the SS its ***** period. The S/C was always heat soaked, the lines or the case never seemed to be cool, even after a long steady drive. Upgrading to the full sized core changed that immediatly! Cooler case, noticeably cool lines, and able to drop a full pulley size instantly KR free. Thats my experiance with it.
I'll say it again, Get a Full Sized IC or go home, period. Don't half ass the intercooling aspect, do it right the first time or don't do it at all...
I'm not whining about the gas cuz when i get into the really heavy mods like a cam and new heads, rockers all that really in dept stuff gas wont even matter, I'll have a pos 4 banger to drive around and I'll have my GTP for Friday night, but i would like to see what kind of parts i can add that wont negatively affect gas mileage, thats why i chose an intercooler, it would give me lots of power and it wouldn't kill my gas.
Most if not all the Modded GTP get better MPG's than the stock ones(when driven normally), you can get better mileage in a V8 than a I4 if you drive for efficiency (or beat on it in the case of the I4 getting low gas mileage)
If you mod the hell out of this car, and aren;t on it all the time your gas mileage will be similar, If you can't control your right foot, wait till you get the second car..... but double the PM if you have 2 cars, so slightly lower gas mileage may be cheaper than 2 cars, but whatever works for you is what you should do

so how do i take off the throttle body without lossing a bunch of coolent? or will only a little come out when i take it off?
and about the whole gasket thing, i never removed the throtle body i just losend it.
and thanks i am awear of RTV my friend and i used it when we put the heads back on his vett
Make sure the engine is cool and has been sitting a while. That way there's little to no pressure in the system. To be sure, you could take off the radiator cap once it has cooled down. You'll loose a little, but not much.
I loosened the bottom 2 nuts on the tb to try ZZP's heat shield and never thought it would hurt the gasket. A couple months ago we took off the tb, found it cracked and had a little dirt/dust around it. Used RTV for the new gasket...
A full size intercooler can be pieced together for $500-$600 bucks, just got to look.
