INTENSE-Racing.com: INTENSE Supercharger Coupler Change Kit
^ Do it right. Besides, I don't think Lucas or STP would stop the bad coupler from making noise, it would probably just cause even more problems.
What GenIII M90 costs $1,200?
LOL
LOL = joke.
I know.
Thanks, ostrich jr.
Fat joke hurts my feelings.
You win![]()
Bahahaha missed that. Truth.
3800 Performance M90 Supercharger Kit: 3800 Performance
Ported shipped would be about $750 +tax ^^^
ZZPerformance - Rebuilt Stock M90 Blower #ZZ-RM90BW
Ported not including shipping $650...
Neither would even come close to 1200 unless you paid a shop to replace them and bend you over on labor.
and another source RollingPerformance.com (he even has the how to replace instructions on his site)
Bahahaha I wish. Cost for me to order on is $1177.33 ... Retail is $1681.91 it does however come with pulley attached and includes new gaskets and a new vacuum hose kit. So it would be good to be installed minus the fuel injector o-rings you would want to replace while they were off.
But even if a dealer discounted it to wholesale or a close area, it would be $1500 +/- w/o taxes. So no... WAY over 1200 or WAY under lol.
PS: BTW I work parts at a GM dealership, Part# 89060470 if you want to call and compare to another lol
Just spent $50, replaced the coupling and 8oz of SC oil... sprayed the cone and impeller out real good with break cleaner... Still knocking... Any suggestions?
sounds like a bad pulley, idler, ect. take the belts off and see if it still makes the noise, take the s/c belt off run it see if its still there, if still there, then take off the accessory belt and see if its gone, if its gone, start checking the pulleys for excessive play or not spinning smoothly.
Ive done this already. Noise is still there when both belts are off... Only reason I tried the SC coupler was because there was a lot of play in SC pulley... Now the play is gone but the knocking is still there...
Ermmm... still noise when both belts are off???
Bad news bud. If both belts are off, no pulleys are spinning, so not a pulley. That means nothing in the supercharger is spinning either, not the supercharger. Grats you have a new coupler, but you have engine problems too. Likely lower problems too, didn't sound like valvetrain noise to me... could be wrong.
Does it get faster with gas, or does it go away when you accelerate?
Does the car have a stock pulley or was did you/previous owner put a smaller one without supporting mods. (this usually results in chipped pistons)
