You DO [in turbo setups] need a place to release the air. Reason being is that in between shifts the back pressure causes resistance and the turbine to slow down. Then essentially you want the pressure to escape [so the turbine stays spooled up] and then the air be recycled after the vehicle shifts.

The Supercharger does no have this issue as it is belt driven and not driven by exhaust gas. I believe [not positive about this] that when decelerating the s\c can put drag on the engine and the bypass valve opens up equalizing the pressure in the outlet and inlet of the blower.

That being said, from what i understand it can be done, i don't know how and i wouldn't hold my breath on here waiting for anyone to help you with this. [if it cant be done someone plz correct me so i can sleep better tonight]
the atmosphere bov (the rice one) sucks for your engine if you run turbo. your engine reads the air coming in, and if you blow that out, your engine will run rich as hell!! run crappy, sound crappy, whats the point right? but they call it a dv, forget the d stands for, but it gets dumped back into the air intake before the turbo, which essentialy heats up the air more and more, but not a big deal, gotta side mount on there stock. i like my 94 tsi awd!!

DV stands for diverter valve. And isn't a BOV typically before the MAF? If so, the MAF isn't reading the air that is exiting the charge pipe via the BOV.

what i meant that the air that is already calculated is dumped out before going into tb. so you will run really rich. i was tired and half my old post didnt make sense...but yes, it will run rich if you dont divert it...i would just reroute it back in anyways

oh and my car has a mas, inside the air intake box...so no, not always. i could get a gm maf translator and use a maf from our cars and it wouldnt really matter..but why rice something???
