Just the other day I installed Pacesetter Headers on my 2000 GTP, as well as a 160 T-Stat and new Autolight XP Iridum plugs. Since then she runs like hell. No power whatsoever when you give her gas, sputters and is missfiring terribly. plugs are gapped at .70 as this is where they were out of the box. I dont know what else it could be. Ive checked all the vac lines and MAF sensor and those are all good. Do headers really make that much of a difference that i need a tune or is something else going on???? Any suggestions??

    Thanks

I thought plugs were supposed to be gapped at 0.60?
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

That thermostat is WAY to cold.

Put the stock one back in.

Re-gap all your plugs back to .055-.060.

.070 is HUGE and wont work.

Any check engine lights other than misfires?

I thought you had to run a 160 T-stat with headers, CAI, PCM tune and a 3.3 pully??

And no check engine lights that I can read. They just flash and the PCM over rides them.

Make sure your headers dont have any leaks, especially near the O2 sensor. and yes close the gap back down.

    No?

Where ever you got that info, its all wrong.

Stock thermostat or 180 is all you need.

Now do what I said with the plugs.

Also running iridums is not the best choice at your mod level.

AP 104's would better suit the motor.

Isnt 3.3 pulley kinda small for just headers and tune?

No reason for such a cold tstat, most peole never run colder than 180, and most of the time that's not even needed.

and x3 on the gigantic gap

Nope, headers dont leak I checked.

Ill close the gap of the plugs and see if that helps.

Why are iridiums not the best choice?

And ZZP is where i got the info for pully sizes and the T-Stat.

Iridums suck IMO, I hated em, run 104's or 103's they work better in our models, 180 t stat is fine you don't need a 160 for your mod level.

Sounds like a crossed wire homie, check your vacuum lines and firing order.

i agree, the boosted motors dont like iridums, copper is the way to go. 104s are good, 103s are still too cold for that setup.

heres the firing order, we are type II and 6 3 is the top coil pack.

It was the plugs for sure. Put new 104s in and she ran perfectly. And they only cost me 12 bucks insted of 50 for those horrible iridiums

Irids aren't horrible... They simply aren't ideal for what you are doing.

Wow those Iridium's cost that much .... OUCH! Did you get a 180 thermostat or put your stock one back in. Also the 3.3 is way small for your mods. I bet you have KR out the wazoo!

Yea they were pretty pricy, about 50 from advance auto parts, and no i havent put my 180 tstat back in yet, ill do that today since im wrapping my headers anyway, and i havent put the pully on yet but im going to a 3.4 because my buddy has on on his girls car but it only has a pcm and a downpipe on it and runs like hell so im giving him my stock one.

Or just keep your stock one until you have a way to scan?

Getting pulley envy is just going to lead to a new motor like everyone else.
