    Hey Guys,

Wondering if you could help me out with something.

I have a 2003 GTP that I just brought to my mechanic with regards to an idle problem. Only when the car is idling, and is in gear the RPM fluctuate up and down, its pretty rough but doesnt stall out. Once driving the problem goes away.

He cleaned the throttle body, that didn't help, as well as ran a compression test, and at idle it reads around 90, but once going it jumps back up to 120 and seems to be fine.

The car has roughly 270k on it. Any help with narrowing the problem would be great.

Im not sure if the IACV would have to be changed.

Your compression seems low. Were all cylinders exactly the same?

Have you checked for vacuum leaks?

all cylinders were exactly the same, just the one was running at 90, but then jumped back to normal when it was out of idle

he checked for leaks, couldnt find any, it had him a little dumbfounded

Try cleaning the IAC and the MAF and see what you get.

Brian... if the car was running, the test was done improperly. I'd disregard the results with the exception that all cylinders were consistent.

Vacuum leaks and IAC is where i'd concentrate.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
