I wanna put nitrous in my 2000 GTP. What would I need to do to my car for it to handle it? And where would I get it, and how to install, etc.

research and reading are what you need to do.
Im sure a bone stock GTP could handle a 35-50 shot, but I wouldnt do it.
I'd say buy supporting mods first then if you still thinks its something you really want to do, then go ahead and do it.
Like what supporting mods? All I have is a 180* thermostat, ZZP DP catted, and K&N intake.
also add new fuel filter, new fuel pump and a rewire, any speed shop shop should be able to fill the bottle
oh god here we go im no expert myself but what KIND of kit? wet/dry? direct port/ single nozzel?
from what ive read and talked to others that have had nitrous there are 3 absolute musts
A bottle warmer! bottle pressure is key
B window switch that is usually set off rpm, gear and throttle position
C brian box to adjust timing and fuel
Zex sells kits that are good up to 75 shot single nozzel dry kit as is it doesnt add fuel with the nitrous for under 400 bucks with everything ready to go. I wouldnt hesitate using used parts but never used nozzels just as a piece of mind at the very least.
I dont play with nitrous and boost without octane... lots of it...
Run E85 or 110 octane when spraying IMO..... Then just spray a wet kit on stock timing. I have sprayed 125 ish into a stock GTP with amazing results, but I ran 110 octane every time I did it.
If you wanted to try it on 93.. stay a bit smaller on the nitrous jet, make sure your AFR is perfect, and pull your timing down to 13-14 degrees (you can put a switch on a stock pcm that reduces your timing 2 degrees).
11.9 at 120 on the manual trans car spraying 125.
I sprayed my all stock with a dry 60 shot for awhile and ran 12.2 with it a few times.
I dont have any video, only sprayed it twice at the track and I was scared of timing the first run. Screwed around a bit with the rest of the bottle on the street and ditched the poop for a ghetto turbo setup that put me at 11.5.
I have no idea why people are still using the laughing gas. What year is it?..like 1988 or something. You can get a decent turbo setup at any 5 and dime store.
Nitrous is a PITA and not good for your motor. One little thing goes wrong and you can piss on the fire and call the dogs in. 2cents
It is true that the speed that nitrous hits your motor is a big deal. Its really hard even with a wet kit to get the first hit using the right mix, and keeping the mix consistant for the whole run.
Theres a local that's run nitrous in his stock gs but doesnt do it all the time. I believe he ran 110 octane when he did too.
But I suggest headers or at least a Plog and downpipe, and an intake of some kind. You will definitely need a tuner or you are asking for serious troubles
Nah, a tuner is probably the last thing I would want to mess with. Your fueling is ultimately done in the fuel jet for the most part... if you spray dry then you have other issues.
I would NEVER toss a plog on a nitrous car... the gains would be invisible at best... Get some headers on if you want to, but otherwise a 3inch DP will be more than enough to keep a 125 shot happy.... Exhaust mods are way overrated on this forum for some reason....
If you get one I would 100% recommend the zex kit IMHO.... they are the easiest/safest on the market for a basic nitrous setup...
that being said... do your research before spending ~400 on a kit to be sure its what you really want...
I have to agree with everyone telling you to get more exhaust work... atleast a plog...
and dont worry about fires like alot of people say you should if you just have a dry kit, nitrous is not flammable on its own...
run a wet kit on a 70-to 100 shot and you'll be fine. dont even bother with a dry kit. new fuel filter, fp rewire, and fuel pressure switch are great plans. you'll be ok. a tune isnt needed on a 100 shot or less..i mean it will help but its not a must
