    When I get the rest of my parts together I'll be installing a s1x cam into my gtp and I just wanted to make sure I could get away with a stock replacement chain and tensioner. I'll be running the cam with crow 105's. When is a double roller needed? 130# springs?
    98 GTP modded 1.9's, sd headers, 3.4", zzp 1.0 230K miles scrapped.

    IMO I'd run a stock setup until you're running something a lot more aggressive than an s1x.
    If your build was heads/big cam 130/150s, tons of boost and shooting for 400+whp, that's when I'd look into a roller.

    That's what I figured. I didn't want to spend more money than needed.

    the stock chain is fine. never really need a double roller unless your going for a huge build.

    Huge is a relative word. I ran a double roller on my stock springed rocker car.

    I wouldn't recommend going double to someone until they were aiming for high lift or something above an LS6 spring rate. (105's are less aggressive than LS6's)

    Basically until you are aiming about 130#. At that point, I'd suggest the double. And if you double roller, please ensure the chamfer on the back of the crank gear is machined to meet the chamfer that is on the stock crank gear. Rollmaster etc doubles were made for an Aussie motor that has a different chamfer than the US motor.

    This is all good news. Stock parts = cheaper for me and more go fast parts for my car
