Apparently im the idiot and dont know nuttin, but here is why i belive you cannot use the tool.

For the reasons i listed, and the bolt is not long enough to thread in and compress the springs. You never want to draw on a bolt with only a few threads, it will strip or pull out just like a crank bolt.
You would want a stud to put into the head and then drawn down onto it with a nut/compressor plate of the tool. That compressor has the proper stud (thread pitch length ect, the plate and a nut.
Like i said you can buy longer bolts use them as studs find a nut washer it and try it. Or just buy a cheaper hand compressor that will work on everything.
