I'm replacing valve springs and want to know what the best tool is to use to compress the valve springs. I've done many V8s but never did an engine with one bank against the firewall.

    TIA.

That's the type I have always used, just be sure to use compressed air in the cylinder so you don't drop a valve into it.

Yeah, I'll have a compressor here. I'll look for a tool like that. I assume you mean it will fit in that cramped area. Thanls.

Or you can just use a lever style.

I figured on using a lever but I didn't know what type would work for this job.

Yea, i have used it on my 05 with the heads installed. I didn't think the lever style worked with the heads installed on the block since it would just push the valves down.

It screws into the holes for the rockers and lets you do two valve springs are once when pressurizing the cylinder.

nice... I thought there wouldn't be enough pressure to use those. Hopefully you don't get a stuck lock haha

Thanks, I totally forgot youtube for some reason. I have that tool I just didn't think there'd be enough room to move it around like that. I used that same tool on my '66 Corvette when I put my 350 cam in.

Think I'm set. I used this one on my '66 corvette. It worked good. Looks like by the video theres enough room.
