Can I run this engine off of my stock computer and harness. Dropped a valve in my lq1. Cant find another motor. Plenty of 3800s around. Will series 2 work? Series 1?

    Would be all custom.

Engine/trans, wire harness, the whole shebang.

Cant just do a straight drop in.

    no it wouldnt.
    go find a gen 1.5 lumina that came with a 3800. (95-99)
it has all the parts you need.
    no custom parts needed.
take the engine/tranny mounts out, axles...although the wiring will indeed be a beotch, it can be done.

Why? Trans bolts up. I have no emissions test. I dont need a band wagon opinion. I need to know if it will run. I dont need or want an upgraded trans. I just want the engine to move the car. Gotta have a way around. Ill upgrade everything else later. Will it run?

youll have to tune the car for the different gear ratios for the 4t60 trans if you arent using a 4t65. forgot to put that in there.

Why if I use my computer and harness and trans, and all I want is to change the motor. Can this stock pcm and harness run a stock 3800? All thT needs to plug in is the ckp, tps, I can swap the ect and injector clips and what not. Wont this work? Will I have to even do that much?

I spliced and obd1 ecm into a obd2 prelude once. It ran good. Is there any reason ill absolutely have to do anything besides wiring to make the engine run?

i dont see why you would have to do anything else except change the harness or even modify it to make the engine run. if i think of any reason ill put it here ASAP.

Thanks. I actually found an lq1 with 88000 miles today for 450, but its between, that or the 3800 sc for 160. I bought it because of the lq1, but idk. Depends on how much I can get how fast. I gotta get this thing going. Tired of being stranded.

honestly if you dont plan on getting a 4t65 than your tranny IS going to go out with a sc 3800...so youll be stranded anyways.
go with the lq1 if you dont want to swap trannys.
