I would start with a 3.5'' and scan.

    Good call expert.

    To add.

Stock pulley > Not knowing if your car is knocking on a smaller one + buying a short block after you grenade the one you have from not researching.

Link in my signature helps quite a bit, brohoss.

    Honest answer?

Skip the pulley, do headers, get a scan gauge...and have a local in PA tune it. There are plenty of 3800 guys up there. I'd also port the blower for lower outlet temps...having a leaner, more WOT timing car > a richer, smaller pulley, stock timing or less car...especially up top.

i agree with blue. before you go dropping pulley sizes do some flow mods and scan it. get a 3.8 and a 3.6 to have on hand when you get to the tuning so you can put it on once the tuner has tuned out your knock. he will then need to tune it again. and then come winter time again youll want to go up a size to get rid of the "winter" knock. 3.6 is probably the lowest you should go with the plog and DP. But the fact that you have a lift at your disposal will make the header install alot easier! you need to lower the rear of the subframe a few inches to sneak the rear in, and the firewall might need a little manipulating for the header dp if you go with the ebay or speed daddy ones. cars come from the factory with knock so your car definitely has some, the question is how much.

header might be in my future but for now im happy with a plog and down pipe im sure if i run my 3.8 with a plog and dp i wont have any knock i think ill wait till i get some money up and get a aero force interceptor then ill drop pulley sizes

That's what shorter, lower, solid rubber motor mounts are for and billet fuel rails.
