LOL, yeah I know! The SOB will not die! My dad and I have been waiting for something major to break on the motor for at least a decade, nothing yet! At this rate it may hit that 1,000,000 mile mark someday! IIRC, a 318 Dodge Van broke that 1,000,000 mile barrier several years ago. I remember reading about it somewhere. The 318 Chrysler motor is a damn good engine no doubt!

I run Royal Purple 10-30 and K&N oil filters in all my vehicles ,why because it looks like purple koolaid.JK ,I know the added expense of synthetic oil is probably not necessary but I look at it this way they have increases on the dyno with RP this would mean you should get a little less friction and also less wear.

And I noticed a slight increase in fuel economy and time for the engine to warm. It definitely reduces friction.

That's the type of oil I use, I just use the K&N filter. But, yea, for that price, I'd probably throw that filter on to get by.

keep in mind it was over 1,000,000 miles 3 years ago. I don't remember exactly what it was but i think it was getting to the 1,150,000 mark... last I heard which was about 5 months ago the Truck is still running like a champ. I'm sure it's it well over the 1,200,000 mark by now.

Another thing I don't think people know too much about is Central/South America is a great place to purchase old classic cars, Camaros especially, because they don't get many new cars down there. The old models are in almost perfect running condition because it's all they have.

My former roommates father and one of his friends bought an old, authentic mind you, Shelby Cobra. Built it up in Ecuador, imported it to the US, for FREE!!! (Diplomats) raced it a few times, then sold it...

Good market for anyone that is interested and has connections down there.

    Valvoline 10 w 30 High milage
I use Valvoline 10w-30 Synthetic High Mileage. I also have oil analysis's done after each change for each of our cars. We get it done for free from my dads work and it is really nice to know of something going wrong before it actually happens.

IMO, that high mileage oil is crap. You pay more and it doesn't do anything for ya. Save yourself the cash, and just run regular oil. I do and I don't have any problems. Just a marketing ploy that many people fall for who don't know any better.

    Again, just my opinion.

at walmart you can get the Castrol Synte c for about 20 buck I do not see the problem with this. I do not think that that is a lot of money it is about the same as buying normal oil from there because it will last twice as long. My car seems to run a bit smoother too

The first number is just the rating of the oil's low temp viscosity. If you live in a colder area, you should run oil that has a lower first number i.e. 0 or 5. 5 and 10 usually are interchangeable in an average climate. But when you live up north and see long periods of cold you should run 5 or 0.
