It's the kind of gauge anybody who's posting about boost should have.
Aeroforce Interceptor Scan-Gauge...it's tits awesome
I usually see 9ish with the 3.5 pulley, if it is really cold I'll see 10 but I try to avoid pushing the car when it is really cold out.
probably 10psi, need a boost guage..
Flow mods lower boost which is a good thing.
Boost numbers don't mean what the bottom end can handle.
I can pulley down to a 2.5" that I have sitting here, load up the octane and make a ton of backpressure, I mean boost in the LIM. That's right your boost reading is back pressure reading in the LIM. Right now I'm 3.6 Gen V, Plog, DP and 1.9 rockers pushing around 9psi.
Have been
4" intake, N* TB, Gen V, 2.9", S1X, titanium retainers, 130# springs, 1.8 RR (on top of cam), S3 heads, SLP headers, EWP, WBS S3 IC, etc etc pushing close to 13-15psi at the top of a gear. My last 6 feet of exhaust piping was 2.5" and likely a restriction that kept boost that high. That motor flowed like a monster and is currently in FourSixers car.
Try and think of boost in a motor w/o head work etc as soemthing you want to manage at no more than 13psi.
3.0 at the moment. 2.8-2.6 will be going on though
Brian...wanna borrow the 2.5, 2.6, Claudio gave them to me. They are guaranteed to break something...lol
He is finally getting all of Clauio's parts off his car, and so far it's been working beautifully. I on the other hand have this extreme urge to break everything now, so can I get those from you Bill? LOL
