For the S/C, you are removing the two bolt bosses at the snout end of the case and making a complete triangle. From there, you can clean up and smooth the rest of the outlet. Most of what you'll want to do after that is clean up the inlet area.

For the LIM, since you are planning to port the heads, you can open up the runners a bit and smooth as much of the inside of the LIM as you feel like doing. Obviously, don't go too large on the runner ports...

On the heads, you'll match the inlets to your LIM outlets. You can smooth around the valve guides and clean up the transitions across the bosses. You can open the exhaust ports a little, but no more than the size of your manifolds/headers. I left the floor of my exhaust ports about where they were and opened up the ceiling to create somewhat of a D shape with the flat portion of the D being the floor. And if you really want to, you can smooth up the chambers a little, but don't take too much out. Afterward, take it to a machine shop and let them do a 3-angle valve job for you.

The real question is: "How far do you want to go?" Porting the aluminum pieces is easy. Doing the heads is more time-consuming and more tedious than the others.
