i was coasting up to a red light, the light changed to green before i had to apply my brakes as i tried to accelerate the engine just shut down and here i am 3 months, 1,100 dollars, and alot of stress later and still can't figure out what is going on! i have replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, t.p.s. sensor, air idle control valve, and a whole new used engine because i spun a crank barring holding at high r.p.m.s. the car will start and run for 5 seconds then stall like it's out of gas, but starts right back up. it will stay running as long as i pump the throtle, but it has to be pumped i can't hold it in one position and keep it running, unless i hold it to the floor. there is no check engine light and my code scanner finds no codes. i can't afford to keep guessing and cause of the cost of the new engine (whitch i swapped myself) i can't afford to take it anywhere and pay to figure out whats going on. somebody PLEASE help, i need this car to run and soon! its a 2000 grand prix GTP with the supercharged 3800.

Mass Air Flow. If you unplug it, then start the car and keep it running for a minute. The pcm should learn and hold idle for you. The basic rule of thumb is that if you have no code and the car runs badly and or stalls, if you unplug it and it runs better that typically it is the maf sensor.

This can only be a fuel pump resistor if you have to keep high rpms to keep it running.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
