he has a scan gauge. we can tell what his car is doing without him doing much work. if we made it that far i would see that as a viable step, but we haven't gotten any concrete answers on his current situation. one step at a time, big guy.

Racers have been reading their spark plugs to troubleshoot problems for decades.

But your right, he can use the scanner also to diagnose

I have had the plugs out and Yes there black and smell like fuel. I have not made this mess I'm just trying to clean it up! Reason for the aeroforce as the first mod. I will go home and look at the timing and knock. Timing at wot or just idle ??

If they are black and smell like fuel then the car is drowning in it.

Which is typical, because you aren't knocking since the car is just drowning in fuel...hence the 10:1 AFR...most likely.

And no, WOT is what you want...if the timing is any less than 16* you've got high EGT's and poopy power output...which is no bueno guy.

That is the only reason you're able to get away with a pulley that small, I'd bet you're in the 3.4" range with a higher timing curve and a safer AFR...like 11.3-5:1.
