I would start with the scan guage so you know where you sit as of now and as you do a mod you can rescan and see if you have picked up anything that needs to be taken care of. That's the biggest thing, scan, scan, scan.

Yea, you could do that, but before you do the cam and ported s/c, i'd get some headers. Have you gotten your pcm yet? If not, I'd go with overkill. He can hook you up good. How far are you trying to go with your motor?

    1) scanner to watch knock
    2) wideband to not go lean
    3) cai
    4) exhaust
    5) if you are going to do a cam and genv do it together to save money on gaskets and labor since it will be all apart to do a cam
    6) then a tune to make everything happy

yes i looked at the s&s headers right after i posted so im gonna get those later this year after the scanner. yes im going with the scanner. one of my buddies with a gtp already had a tuner so im not worried about one at the moment. But i am going to cam and get a better blower. any suggestions in a combo. you can see my choices at the begining

Thses 2 things are capable of putting you in the 12's fairly easy with the right supporting mods ect. Like headers for instance.

Is your friend willing to be there when ever you need him. Tuning is not just a one time thing. You can go to the extent of doing a new tune for every 10* of ambient tempture change if you wanted to. If your friend is that willing just tell him to let you use his scanner on his computer also. May save you some money if you can do it that way. Although some perfer to keep an eye on the gauge instead of the laptop. Personal preference there. Damn near any aftermarket gauge you can buy i can already veiw it on the scanner/tuner.
