Is your friend willing to be there when ever you need him. Tuning is not just a one time thing. You can go to the extent of doing a new tune for every 10* of ambient tempture change if you wanted to. If your friend is that willing just tell him to let you use his scanner on his computer also. May save you some money if you can do it that way. Although some perfer to keep an eye on the gauge instead of the laptop. Personal preference there. Damn near any aftermarket gauge you can buy i can already veiw it on the scanner/tuner.
