I went to start the gtp this morning and it wouldn't even sputter. First thing I check is the fuel rail, and no gas came out when I hit the bleeder. I checked all the fuse and they all look ok. I then did the fuel pump resistor test by bending the relay tab which should kick the pump to high and still I have no fuel pressure. I believe I need a new fuel pump. I'm going to check the pump first and make sure its getting voltage back there.

What pump do you guys think I should go for. I'm thiniking either going with a new stock fuel pump, or migrating over to the racetronix fuel pump with the harness. How reliable is the prj racetronix kit been. I've heard great things so far about it, but their probably aren't many people with more than 50k on the pump yet.

I called my local GM to see what a stock pump cost and they told me $550. I checked gmpartsdirect / paceperformance and they are around $350. My local autozone/advanced auto have them as well and are $350 or so but I question the quality of their parts. I'll probably go with the racetronix kit.

I can't answer your question, but my fuel pump is really loud. Did you turn the key on and listen for it?

have you checked the pump yet ? usually it shows signs before it goes out such as, bad gas millage and cutting out. I had to replace mine a few months back just went with stock i really don't see any reason to change it unless you have supporting mods such as bigger injector, bored fuel rail, fuel pump rewire. to my believes and i could be wrong you can upgrade to a performance pump but it will still pump the fuel at the same rate as stock but you may want to wait for some more opinion's

I purchase the racetronix kit from PRJPERFORMANCE with the harness upgrade for $210. It would be pretty hard to find a replacement pump for that price that has had a pretty good track record in terms of reliability. The pump is also capable of pumping more fuel than the stock pump, which I'll probably never utilize.
