Ok i have a good understanding i think of M90 porting, but i have seen so many diff things done. The GTP i parted out years ago had an ebay m90 the kid bought. it was ported too wide and the two slits were opened up too. have pic below. i have seen others port their blower differently too i think it is the SVT lightning style porting... i understand it is important to keep the outlet the same angle as the rotors... as this just makes sense.

im thinking the slits on either side of the main outlet are what people call silencer ports... i have a pic on my computer where someone machined a drop in piece of aluminum to block these... what would this benifit?

i had mine closed up with aluminum epoxy. i really gained nothing at all. i think it made it whine slightly louder at lower boost levels, but i did a lot all at once so who really knows.

i would leave them open, honesty.

also that outlet you show above is opened up too far on the outlet. if you open that up the rotor to outlet angle gets thrown off. they have that angle for a reason.

despite that drive looking very cool, we don't autox or go on road courses much.

Even though I might try next season.

the port they do would ruin the blower. extending the outlet all the way up like that just loses efficiency.

im not sure if it is what you ment by the snake drive... but has anyone tried a home built snout cooling system? not sure where to source a pump to push the SC oil, but you could get two fittings and a pump and heat exchanger? depending where you put the inlet outlet, you could use the spinning gears and gravity to push and pull the oil and not need a pump. im sure its not needed... and would ultimatly be a new failure point but for people running small pulleys it might be an option...

They claim 25 hp increase on port and polish. We'll see

What level is that 25hp increase? 25hp increase on a stock motor would be awesome... but if that is a fully built engine then the actual gain on the normal 3.4 supported drop will be alot less. And while I'm asking is that 25whp increase or 25hp at the crank?

Things like this remind me of K&Ns classic 14hp increase from changing the filter alone... its not 14hp bump on a stock motor like 90% of the general population think lol

yeah, i doubt any porting of the blower (m90) could produce any gains in excess of 10whp. in fact, i bet they are less and in the realms of 3-5whp.

When I emailed them about it, they didn't give a break down on numbers and I didn't ask. If I had to guess, it would have been an 04+car with a tune at least. Then the p&p blower and tune. They said it ran better and was easier to tune. Idk. I will have a fully built xpz setup so we's can see right. If you go to their website and browse the misc folder, you will see a gen v, gen 3 and an m62. It's not all hogged out, smoothed and well finished. They're well known with the cobra blowers and their outlets looks like they traced a potato. Who would have thought that would be good.

the way they extend the outlet so far up towards where the h-beam used to be leads me to believe that they blower would be much less efficient.

you should definitely ask the theory behind why they do it like that.

its a percentage increase you need to look at.

calculate the percent increase 25 hp is on the motor they claim that for, then take the same percent added to your estimated power level.

its not precise, not accurate for our motors, but its better than 25 hp

It's already here and ready to be bolted in place. I'm just gonna run it and see what happens. I can get you an email address if you wanna bust his balls though.

i was reading something the other day and think it might explain the port shape they are using... the ref used was about the Grand nationals... where the turbo would flow fine at stock boost levels to all 6. but when people would up the boost some cylinders would end up with too much boost then others and cause issues with leaning them out... the fix was plates to put between the upper turbo manifold and lower intake mani that would balance the flow...

maybe the longer port allows more flow to other cylinders and prevents over boosting others... the blower might not be as efficient, but you now can run more boost without risking a blown cylinder cause of too much boost.

That kind of makes since up until you think about our problem cylinders and how many 3 and 5 cylinder troubles which are further away from the outlet. Take me for example. I just threw a rod in cylinder 5, furthest one away. XPZ, ported heads, Gen V w 3.0 pulley 13 lbs boost. If you were really curious I could chat them up a little. The blower is already here though, and the opening is no more than an inch wide tapered off properly and it almost made it to the H beam. Isn't the blower kind of a vacuum and pulls alot of the air anyhow, so it could have really used a little extra outlet. Just thinking. Seems that a company such as there's would have the information and resources to take advantage of any blower and a few spare cases to experiment. I know Zoomer said not to touch these things, but is there any real proof out there that there are not any gains from a little love?

I never had a problem with my gen5 but if porting can improve boost and sound , I'm in

And this looks like a zzp issued north star throttle body and a s2 core. I had the same writing on my n*

i just feel like putting that outlet on it that it will lose a lot of efficiency. am i wrong? probably maybe, but i dont know any better.

blower porting is weird to me. kind of like porting heads.
