Re: Car is almost back together but need a lil help please
Would you do me a favor though, in the future before you go on vacation can you check with me first and make sure I don't have my car torn apart? If not I understand. Some people are more selfish than others I guess... JK of course. Thanks again Bill.
Re: Car is almost back together but need a lil help please
WOOFinHOO!!! Put the new/used PCM I got from GTPSHAWTY and the car lives. It started right up and ran chugging along a few times but then after about 2-3 minutes the idle smoothed out and it hiccuped a few times but we let it run for about 15 minutes and by the time we shut it off it was running very smooth with no codes at all. Let the car sit and cool about 45 minutes then the older brother said time to drive it. He got in and drove it slow around the block and came back with a huge grin on his face. Said time to DRIVE it, straightened it out in the lot and laid a twin patch down at least 30-40'
The tires would chirp 1st and 2nd before but I never really had gotten on it all the way so I did not know if this was normal or the PCM which was a fairly mild one that Reptile had done for GTPSHAWTY but the mechanic said he was not even WOT and it did that, so I am guessing it is the PCM :th_thumb-up:
Anyway thanks to everyone again that offered help and huge thanks to GTPSHAWTY for having the PCM and being really great to deal with to get it fast.

Re: Car is almost back together but need a lil help please
I really hate having to post in here again but..... I am going to make a video of the car running and driving to try and show what it is doing and sounding like, there are no codes present at all so I am stumped, but until I get a chance to do that I did notice something I wanted to throw out for people to maybe comment on in case it is familar to any of you.
I was driving it the other day (97 gtp stock) and noticed something that seemed odd but might be normal. When I was on the throttle no matter if it was 25mph on a surface street or 70mph on the highway and would let off the throttle the rpms would just go flat down at least 1000rpm from where they were when I was on the throttle. There was no gradual needle movement at all it was as if it was a on/off switch type deal. I have not had a chance to drive it and look at my scanner yet while moving. I shoulda got an aeroforce or scan gauge but I got an equos 3130 and while it does see live data it is not exactly too safe to use alone in the car while in motion. I am not sure that the car is doing this in reality or if maybe just the factory tach is messed up but will scan while driving asap to confirm this.
Any ideas?

Re: Car is almost back together but need a lil help please
Just seemed strange to me but all I have driven in the last 15 years or so is new model vehicles or commercial vehicles and either never noticed that or something but maybe I am looking for something that is not there. That would be nice cuz then I could just relax a little. I just went for a drive in our 08 dodge van and the tach drops slowly when I let off the throttle rather than just an immediate drop and it does that too in my wife's company car too, 2010 lexus ls460. Thanks though I appreciate the input!
