I'll have to strongly disagree. I've had experience with both and the WizAired is by far the superior. Not sure which version you had experience with, but the latest WizAired that's been out a little over a year (the one with the smaller window) is of excellent quality. The Thrasher doesn't do **** for insulation and just ends up getting heat soaked.

My only complaint is that excessive removal and installations of the tubing (if you mod a lot) will eventually wear it out, but replacements are available.

I have the thrasher, scaned my 99GTP today and these are my numbers, if you are looking something to compare to.

Car sitting in sun all day, started up, car running idle for less then 2 mins [had to start up the scanner] = 21* over ambient.

Driving at 75 mph = 6* over ambient.

Sitting idle after 5 mins of moderate driving = 28*

If you ask me 6* over ambient is dam good considering this is a cold air intake and not a fender wall intake. Also the air takes much longer to reach the engine from the fwi. Maybe my logic is wrong: its easier for a human to breather from a 2" peice of tuming rather then one thats 2' long wouldn't the same logic apply to an engine? [enlighten me].

It would breath the same as long as the tubing is the same diameter. Be different if on was lets say 4 inches and the other was 2 1/2 inches. It's like breathing through a regular straw and then trying to breath through a coffee stirring straw.

With the WizAired after about a couple minutes of driving at a steady speed (once started sitting in the sun, as in your example) I usually see ambient or at most a couple degrees over.

KR is knock retard. You need a scanner that can detect it. For every 1 degree of kr you have, you lose 2 hp. Too much kr can be bad for your motor.

dont relate knock with loss of power. knock is detonation in your cylinders. if you leave it without ever taking care of it you can turn pistons into dust.

Why not? You lose hp with kr and it's bad for the motor. You get rid of kr, you keep from doing damage and you have the performannce from your engine. Simply just saying what kr is and how it affects your motor and performance.

Exactly. That's why I don't understand why he said don't relate kr with loss of power.

Very true. Just was giving him the quick down and dirty that it's nothing to really play around with. In more ways than one.

Theres a sticky right here on this forum that does a great job explaining it.

If your discouraged from reading the long post i will give a brief description. As already mentioned it is knock retard or detonation. The engine creates a controlled explosion which creates power [hence internal combustion engine]. Knock is when the explosion is uncontrolled often because of heat.

It's important to understand that KR is not detonation. It is the PCM's response to detonation to keep your engine in one piece.

Ok, so how about a Digital Horsepower PCM? It looks like a nice PCM, but is a PCM really worth spending the money on? The reviews on it say its amazing too...
