I'm trying to pull off an MPS with a Smoothflow puller. A little history, when. I got my MPS and threw it on (bought it used) with the bolts I got with it they all eventually either stripped out or snapped off. That left me in the predicament to get the bolts to retread, I got 3 of the 6 to work out, they've been holding up fine until I tried to pull the hub off. One of the bolts stripped so I'm stuck with it still attached. What I'm trying to do is put on a stock pulley since I'm going top swapped basically.

Anyone got any ideas to get this off? I was thinking of waiting till I pull off the blower until so I could drill/thread the holes for all the bolts to get it off. Last resort would be to cut it off...

Do you need/ have a backing plate for hub removal?

you could leave it on and get a 3.8 pulley for the mps re thread those bolts and still be able to drop pulleys in the future. just a suggestion

That's true, I'm not planning on dropping though. The stock pulley is free lol

Why couldn't you just rent/buy a 3 jaw pulley puller and pull it off that way? Shouldn't do any damage to the shaft, and if you aren't reusing the MPS and it's all stripped out anyway there is nothing to worry about. It probably won't even damage it though. Just hope the guy who put it on put some anti-seize on when he pressed the hub on

Meh, I'd still give it a shot, it really can't hurt anything. It's kind of your only option!

Make your own backer plate... Just run down to your local metal recycler, dig through their **** for a decently thick piece of aluminum or steel. I got a nice 15"x15"x1/4" piece of aluminum for around $6 been making block off plates and bunches of other stuff out of it for almost 2 years now, got 1/4 of it left.
