Well my maf on the 00 had a crack on the top of the housing, causing it to throw the low circuit code.

I remember that there was a GTP at a yard I always go to and it so happened to have the maf still on it. I pick it up and get home to realize after seeing that it was different that it is a 97-98 maf.

The car runs way better with it, no surging at idle and no sputter/hesitation when going WOT. I unplugged it and car ran very different so its def doing something

Should I be worried about anything? The maf itself is a reman which is pretty cool since I got it for $2.

Well quick update. Car runs perfect with this reman maf. I really should go back and check what year the car was.

Anyways the PO said he had the whole TB replaced for some reason that I forgot to ask and said he had the old one laying around and brought it over. I grabbed the original maf and looked ok but instantly after putting it in it started doing the same thing it did with the older maf. It started surging and causing lights to dim.

Whats going on here? From what I see the reman 97-98 looking maf works since there is nothing in the way of the sensors and its basically a open spot. Unplugging the maf makes the car idle higher.

Should I just leave it be?
