Need help!

i was wondering if anyone could help me, i have a 2000 grand prix gtp, and the emergency brake on the driver side is siezed, from what i herd i had to tug on the emergency brake line and it would be un siezed, but sadly it isent and now the cable on the passangers side pulled out cause i pulled to hard lol, im kinda in a pickel because i cant move the car now really unless i cut the cable and drag the tire :P thanks

Is the pedal up or down? If it's down you may need to loosen it completely until it releases.

If the pedal is up, It sounds like something may be jammed in the drum. Either jack the car up and take a look, or AT YOUR OWN RISK try to drag the tire by driving back and forth to release whatever may be stuck, then fix as necessary.

ive driven it around 30 miles/ 50 kms and its not completly draging but it almost is, all i can smell is it burning, and the pedal goes up and down lol almost like its not connected. but yet when the emergency brake is applied i can feel it a little bit in the cable

In that case, your caliper may be seized. The buring you would be smelling is probably the pad burning off on the rotor.

If that's what it is, go get a different caliper. It shouldn't take a whole lot of time to do if you're motivated.

The only way to know for sure what the problem is, is to take the wheel off and inspect the braking mechanism for flaws.

alright well car is already in the air right now im gona quick see if i can apply the brake and move the tire, if so im gona get a new caliper, if it stops though sadly ill have to redo the emergency brakes again =/ ah alright thanks man ill let u know in a few mins how it goes

k so it is the emergency brake , so to realease it all i have to do is pull on the wire and spray some brake fluid on the springs?

Trace the wire and make sure it's not hung up on anything. There's a reason it isn't letting go. It could be rust on the cable itself, meaning the whole cable needs replaced.

well what if i take the cable and disconect it, will that relase it?
