Hey guys ive been experiencing some ticking sound in my engine i did wat some threads i read to do like running seafoam in it and looking around with a screw driver where the sound was coming from... Well i narrowed it down to the sound comming from my oil pan like a rattle/ knocking noise.. This just randomly started to happend.. Well also whats weird is im not getting any extra kr from this knocking noise in my engine and also wat i notice is wen im doing 60 mph let say and i let off the gas and just coast, my rpms jump from 1800 to 1200 with a second or two between it .. Wat could this be ? I just wanted to see if anyone experience this before? Thanks

Most likely that rpm thing you are noticing is normal and you are hyper sensitive looking for stuff.

The noise.. could be a flex, etc. Have you checked oil pressure?
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

That's not flex plate related, 99.9% of the time, the flex plate noise goes away under throttle.

Pull off your valve covers...check your rockers...one could be loose.

    Mods?

Also...how do you spark plugs look? What plugs are you running?

Not sure about the TC issue, but it shouldnt matter, cause you oughta be doing burnouts everywhere...XD

Obviously, it's only occuring on one cylinder...

Might be a tiny little piece of something in one cylinder (spark plug, chipped piston) Thus causing piston slap. Best bet is to pull the plugs and see how they look.

Also, doesnt sound nearly nasty enough to be rod knock....

Oh, and its Piston Slap, and rod knock....And I doubt you'd get a good KR reading in park, lightly revving it, you need to have the engine under load.
