I keep on hearing a couple folks mention how ragingly inaccurate the DIC is. I've only ever used it in two cars and it's been deadly accurate in both. It's my belief that this is probably mostly only symptomatic of 97-2003 DICs. Frankly, it's amazing that it's as close as it is when its calculations are based on wheel speed sensors.

Keep us updated. I might have to make good friends with this seafoam fella.
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

I was just going to post something similar. The whole DIC accuracy debate comes up on here often, so last year I started to track my real life fuel usage and compare it to the DIC mainly satisfy my own curiosity. Long story short, the DIC on my car has been proven to be very accurate. I kept a fuel usage spread sheet going for 16,000 miles, what I found is my DIC mpg reading is consistently high but still 97% accurate.

DIC variations compare to real life usage per fill-up

    +0.0 mpg (low range)
    +0.6 mpg (average value)
    +1.0 mpg (upper range)

Granted the DIC does read a little high, but it reads consistently high so knowing this I can predict my actual fuel usage with scary accuracy.

Ten years of continuous driving excitement and counting!
