Not sure if this will work for the blowers but it works on my DOHC. on my upper intake i got tired of tearing gaskets when i need to get at the rear bank to do plugs or get at the back of the engine... so, i got two gaskets. one ends up getting stuck to the upper intake and the other gets stuck to the lower. the two gaskets seal tight to each other but will not stick either... so i can take it off and put back on when ever.

this might work for the blowers too or for people running IC's use an extra SC gasket and maybe they will separate. only issue i can see is the coolant that flows thru... they may stick there... anyone try this or want to try this?

Why didn't you just reach over all that and do the plugs?
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Have you seen a 3.4 DOHC Bill? You'd have to have flat hands and arms to get back there

Yes, I've worked on those crapboxes...

Done plugs, intakes, heads and motor swaps on them. They are right up there on my list with Crown Vic 4.6's and 4.2's in trailblazer/Envoys

I've done plugs on them without removing the intake. Not too difficult. But good suggestion for those who can't I suppose.

On the 95 and older the upper intake didn't completely cover the rear bank like on the 96 & 97 even with the engine out of the car it's a no go as the upper intake practically rests on the sparkplug boot

Don't get me wrong, I like the dual gasket idea.

It's your choice in motors that I question.

I just wonder if it will work for the blowers? if anyone trys it let me know please.

I know... most will think im crazy for loving this motor. but it IS a love hate for most with this engine. i love it. right now, NA i can take a stock l67. this was my original goal.

With what i have planned, it will be even faster. swapping to a 4t65e with 3.69's then i can free up more power i had to limit to save my poor 4t60. then next will be a full engine rebuild with total seal rings, i will port the heads, valve job, and stronger springs. then phase three will be a low boost turbo. i have seen many builds that put down 325-350 from 7-8 psi. i have some tricks up my sleeve when it comes to tuning these engines as well. so who knows what it is going to be making. everyone told me i couldn't break 15's with just mild porting and exhaust So We will See lol

With the coolant going up the LIM into the UIM/SC and into the TB, i wouldn't try it. Likely you'd get a coolant leak. If you blocked the ports though. I don't see why it wouldn't work.

I wouldn't do it on an IC car because by then you're usually trying to run higher boost and likely would blow out part of a thick gasket.

yeah i was thinking about the coolant passages... but i know some block those.

and yeah with high boost i would want the gasket stuck to both sides too... and the heat of the blower might be a factor too....

well fun brain storming for ideas....
